Nizam Uddin, Joint Coordinator of the NCP’s Chattogram Metropolitan unit, faces fresh allegations of demanding Tk 5 lakh to stop a port-related protest after a video went viral on social media. He claims the conversation was a joke and part of a conspiracy to damage his political career, challenging anyone to prove he took money.

The leaked video shows Nizam telling Anti-Discrimination Student Movement leader Aftab Hossain Rifat to try to collect more money from protesters. Nizam says Rifat was beaten and forced to call him, while Rifat claims the same in a separate video.

Earlier in July, Nizam was accused of demanding Tk 2 crore from a woman and filing a false case against her husband. He was expelled but later reinstated.
