The United States government is planning to issue special “America250” passports this summer to mark 250 years of independence. These limited-edition passports will feature a large image of Donald Trump on the inside cover, alongside the text of the Declaration of Independence, the US flag, and his signature in gold. Another page will include a well-known painting of the founding fathers signing the declaration.
According to State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott, the passports will include customized artwork and enhanced imagery while maintaining existing security features, which he described as among the most secure in the world.
The passports are part of a broader “America250” initiative, which also includes events such as a Grand Prix race on the National Mall and a UFC fight planned on the White House south lawn. Officials say only a limited number of these passports will be released, though exact figures have not been disclosed.
This move is seen as part of a wider effort to feature Trump’s image across public institutions and materials. His portrait is already displayed on banners at several government buildings, including the Departments of Justice, Labor, and Agriculture, where it appears alongside Abraham Lincoln. The 2026 national parks pass also includes his image alongside George Washington.
Additionally, draft designs from the United States Mint include a proposed $1 coin featuring Trump, while a commemorative 24-karat gold coin design has also been approved. Plans are also underway for a proposed 250-foot “Arc de Trump,” a golden monument that would surpass the height of both the US Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial, despite reported public criticism.
