Skipping classes, dropping out, or leaving a course without informing the institution can lead to cancellation of a US student visa, the US Embassy in Dhaka warned on April 18, 2026. It added that such violations may also affect a student’s chances of getting a visa in the future.

The embassy said students in the United States must follow all visa rules. Failing to attend classes regularly or quitting a program without permission is considered a breach of visa conditions.
