Sharmeen S Murshid, the advisor for women and children affairs, stated that the movement killed 105 children. She announced that each family would receive 50,000 BDT. She made the declaration during a press conference at the Secretariat on Sunday afternoon (October 6).
According to Sharmeen S Murshid, the social safety net program provides allowances to 12 million elderly, widowed, and disabled people. According to a UNICEF assessment, 43% of the recipients are ineligible for the payment. The World Bank has also taken this issue seriously, thus the list will be reviewed and scrutinised.
Regarding the election, she stated that it had not been considered by the advisory council. However, conversations with political parties are still ongoing. She also stated that elections would be held once the reforms were finalised.
