A third-grade student from Teknaf, Huzaifa Afnan, was critically injured by gunfire from an armed group in Myanmar and is currently under intensive care at Chattogram Medical College Hospital.

Doctors reported that although a lengthy surgery was performed, the bullet lodged in Huzaifa’s head could not be removed due to its location in an extremely sensitive area. During the operation, clotted blood in her brain was cleared, and part of her skull was carefully removed and preserved in a freezer.

From Sunday night (January 11) until 4 a.m., the surgery helped reduce pressure in her brain, but the bullet remains in place. Medical professionals say her condition remains unstable.
