US President Donald Trump stated that the United States has enough nuclear weapons to destroy the world 150 times. He has also instructed the US Department of Defense to expedite nuclear weapons testing.

Trump made these remarks in a recent interview with CBS’s “60 Minutes.”

He pointed out that North Korea is not the only country conducting nuclear tests; other nations are regularly testing their nuclear weapons as well. Therefore, he argued, the United States should not hold back from doing the same.

Trump said, “We have more nuclear weapons than any other country. I believe we should work towards nuclear disarmament. I have discussed this issue with both President Putin and President Xi. We have enough nuclear weapons to destroy the world 150 times.”

He added that it is unrealistic to build nuclear weapons without testing them, questioning, “You build a weapon, but you don’t test it — so how do you know it works?”

Trump also noted that Russia and China maintain large stockpiles of nuclear weapons. He claimed that unlike other countries, the United States does not operate in secrecy regarding its nuclear arsenal.
