BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman has been sworn in as the 11th Prime Minister of Bangladesh. On Tuesday (February 17), shortly after 4:00 PM, President Md. Shahabuddin administered the oath to him at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

As per tradition, the swearing-in ceremony began with the national anthem and a recitation from the Holy Qur’an. After taking the oath of office, President Shahabuddin administered the oath of secrecy to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, who then signed the official documents.

The President subsequently administered the oath to 25 ministers. Following their oath and signatures, the formalities were completed. Later, 24 state ministers were sworn in, and with their signatures, the oath-taking ceremony of the new government concluded. The event was conducted by Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman was accompanied by his wife, Zubaida Rahman, and daughter, Zaima Rahman. Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus was also present at the ceremony, along with at least 1,000 local and foreign guests.
