Scientists have created a formula that can regrow lost hair in just 20 days. This breakthrough comes from researchers at National Taiwan University and is published in the peer-reviewed journal Cell Metabolism. The study found that certain fatty acids, released by fat cells beneath the skin, can activate hair follicle stem cells to trigger new hair growth.

Researchers discovered that when the skin is injured, fat cells (adipocytes) in the area break down and release compounds such as triglycerides and peroxide acids. These substances activate macrophages, a type of immune cell, which then secrete growth factors that stimulate dormant hair follicles. This process, in turn, promotes rapid hair regeneration in the damaged area.

Although these results offer new hope for treating hair loss, scientists warn that more studies are needed to determine the formula’s long-term safety and effectiveness in humans.
