Sarjis Alam, the chief organizer of the JNC, revealed the announcement date during a press conference at the committee’s office on Monday evening. According to Alam, the new party is being formed to continue the fight in the spirit of the July uprising, with the official declaration scheduled for Friday. Both ADSM and JNC leaders have been conducting a public opinion campaign under the initiative "New Bangladesh in Your Eyes," launched on February 5. The survey, designed to gather public input on the new party, has already seen over 200,000 participants as of Sunday afternoon, according to Akhtar Hossain, the JNC’s member secretary. The party’s agenda and policies will be shaped by public feedback and expectations. The survey results showed that citizens value a corruption-free nation, good governance, accountability, social justice, equal opportunities, economic prosperity, and institutional reform. "Our new political party will focus on these priorities and align our agenda with the people’s expectations," said Akhtar Hossain at the briefing. The survey also highlighted that honesty should be a key factor in selecting the party's leadership. It stressed the importance of internal democracy, steering clear of family-based leadership, and ensuring the inclusion of women and representatives from all ethnic groups. Several names linked to the July revolution have been suggested for the new party, including Janatar Dal, Notun Bangladesh Party, Biplabi Cal, Nagarik Shakti, Chaatra Janata Party, Bangladesh Biplabi Party, Republic Party, and Jatiya Shaakti, among others. In terms of symbols, the public recommended representations of struggle, development, and unity. The most popular choices include the rising sun, books, trees, fists, and pens. The final party symbol will be chosen upon registration. Sources within the JNC have hinted that Nahid Islam may resign from the interim government's advisory council to become the convenor of the new party, while Akhtar Hossain is expected to continue as the party’s member secretary.
