In Enayetpur, Sirajganj, a tragic incident occurred where an SSC examinee reportedly died after being beaten by classmates for refusing to show his exam papers. The event took place on Friday, April 25. The student, Imon Hossain (16), passed away while receiving medical treatment. Imon, son of Imdadul Mollah from Khukni Islampur village, was an SSC candidate at Khukni High School and College. His family has blamed unruly classmates for his death and is demanding exemplary punishment. Imon’s father, Imdadul Mollah, said, "My son was polite, well-mannered, and intelligent. I never imagined they would kill him just for not allowing them to copy his exam papers. I demand the immediate arrest of those responsible and strict punishment."

According to the family, the incident started on April 17 during the English 2nd Paper exam at Enayetpur Islami High School. Some unruly classmates asked Imon to let them copy from his paper. When he refused, the next afternoon, classmates Rajim and Rabbi, reportedly encouraged by the same group, called him from his home and took him to Daulatpur New Village in Belkuchi. There, he was brutally assaulted by several individuals.

After hearing of the attack, Imon’s family rushed to the scene, found him in critical condition, and initially took him to Khaja Yunus Ali Medical College Hospital, before transferring him to a hospital in Dhaka. As his condition worsened, he was moved back to the local hospital, where he passed away on Friday morning while undergoing treatment.

Regarding the incident, Enayetpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Roushan Yazdani said, "The deceased’s body has been sent for autopsy. Since the assault took place under Belkuchi Police Station’s jurisdiction, a case will be filed there. We are committed to taking swift action against those responsible."
