Bangladesh clinched a 1-0 win against India in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers on Tuesday, thanks to a decisive goal from Sheikh Morsalin. India couldn’t find an equalizer, giving Bangladesh their first victory in this qualifying round and their first win over India in 22 years.

After the match, Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud announced a BDT 2 crore reward for the national team, calling the moment “historic.” Bangladesh last beat India 2-1 in Dhaka in 2003. With this match, the two sides have now faced each other 30 times—Bangladesh winning 4, drawing 13, and losing 13.
