The Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) will launch a dedicated ‘Pink Bus’ service for women on August 18, with both drivers and conductors being women. The initiative aims to ensure safer and more convenient public transport for female passengers.

The service is part of the government’s efforts to fulfil commitments made in its election manifesto. The official inauguration will take place at 10am on August 18 at the BRTC Dhaka Truck Depot in Tejgaon.

Road Transport and Bridges, Railways and Shipping Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam is scheduled to attend the event as chief guest, while State Minister for Railways and the Road Transport and Highways Division Habibur Rashid will be present as the special guest.

BRTC announced the initiative in a press release issued today.
