This announcement was made during BSC's 47th Annual General Meeting held in Chattogram, where a 25% cash dividend for shareholders was also declared. In the previous fiscal year 2022-23, BSC's total income was Tk667.23 crore, with total expenditure at Tk375.64 crore, resulting in a net profit of Tk246.29 crore after tax adjustments. The net profit increased by Tk3.40 crore in the fiscal year 2023-24, according to BSC Managing Director Commodore Mahmudul Malek. The corporation earned Tk487.74 crore in operational income and Tk108.44 crore from other sources during the year. BSC has enhanced its fleet by adding six new ships, five of which are already operational. Plans are underway to build two crude oil mother tankers, two mother bulk carriers, and 12 container ships, with six of them being constructed with South Korean assistance. As of June 30, 2024, BSC's total assets amounted to Tk3,811.53 crore, with the government owning 52.10% of shares valued at Tk79.46 crore.
