Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh’s ace all-rounder, has failed his second test for suspect bowling action, as confirmed by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) sources to The Daily Star. His bowling action was reported during his time with Surrey County Cricket Club in September 2024. After failing his first test in Loughborough, Shakib’s second test took place in Chennai on December 21, but he failed again. This setback jeopardizes his chances of being included in Bangladesh’s squad for the upcoming Champions Trophy, starting in February 2025. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) had been awaiting the results before finalizing the squad. Shakib cannot bowl in international cricket until his action is cleared, with future tests needing ECB coordination.
