The Football Association stated that it supported Saudi Arabia's bid to host the 2034 World Cup after being assured that all fans would be safe and welcomed. As anticipated, the governing body for English football backed Saudi Arabia’s bid and the multi-nation hosting of the 2030 World Cup at the online Fifa Congress on Wednesday afternoon, where the hosts were officially announced.

In a statement released after the meeting, the FA said: "Our priority is to ensure that all our fans can attend and enjoy the tournaments. The FA board met with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation last month to discuss their bid in detail. We asked them to commit to guaranteeing the safety and welcome of all fans in Saudi Arabia for 2034, including LGBTQ+ fans. They assured us that they are fully dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming environment for all fans."
