In Khulna, a rickshaw driver was attacked on the head by assailants who then fled with his rickshaw. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning at the Boro Mirzapur Cross Road. The injured driver was taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital, and his condition is critical.

The victim, Rony (28), is the son of Afsar Goldar and a resident of Manoshi Billing Mor, Khulna’s Kalishpur People’s Colony.

According to police and locals, Rony was riding a rickshaw with a passenger along Boro Mirzapur Road when the attackers struck him on the head, knocked him to the ground, and escaped with the rickshaw. Hearing his cries, locals rescued him and rushed him to the hospital.

OC of Khulna Police Station, Md. Kabir Hossain, said Rony’s condition is critical. Due to the severity of his injuries, doctors at Khulna Medical College Hospital have advised transferring him to Dhaka for further treatment. CCTV footage from nearby houses has been collected, and efforts are underway to apprehend the culprits.
