Farmer Enamul Haque has earned widespread praise for preventing a major train accident by stopping an oncoming train after spotting a broken railway track. Using the red part of a banana blossom tied to a stick as a warning signal, he managed to alert the train in time. The incident drew attention at the government level, prompting the Ministry of Railways to direct that he be officially honored. Following this, he was felicitated today (Tuesday, March 24) at a ceremony held at the Rajshahi Railway Building.

At the event, West Zone Railway General Manager Farid Ahmed presented Enamul Haque with a commemorative crest and award on behalf of the railway authorities. He was also given a financial reward.

Earlier, at around 6:45 AM on March 23, while walking along the railway line between Birampur and Fulbari stations in Dinajpur, Enamul Haque noticed a significant break in the track. At that moment, a train was approaching the damaged section. Acting quickly, he decided to stop it. Unable to find any red cloth to signal danger, he tied the red part of a banana blossom to a stick and used it to alert the train. The driver noticed his signal, and the train came to a halt just before reaching the broken section.
