The government has taken steps to establish five 200-bed specialized children’s hospitals in the Khulna, Barishal, Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions, along with Cumilla district, to strengthen child healthcare services. 

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman announced that all five hospitals are expected to be inaugurated simultaneously in October.

He made the announcement on Saturday (August 15) morning after inaugurating the newly constructed 500-bed building of the National Institute of Neurosciences and Hospital in the capital.

Earlier at around 10:00am, the Prime Minister formally inaugurated the new facility. The ceremony also included planting a tree sapling on the hospital grounds, offering a special prayer, and releasing balloons and pigeons to mark the occasion.
