In Anwara, Chattogram, two young children were rescued after being found sitting by the roadside in severe cold. The girl, aged four, and the boy, aged two, are Ayesha and Morshed from the Moulvir Dokan area of Satkania Upazila. Their parents are Khorshed Alam and Jhinuk Akhtar. The children were rescued on Sunday evening from the Mazar Gate area of Barkhain Union in Anwara Upazila.
They were found by CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver Mahim Uddin, who brought them to his home after speaking with them. His wife, Sharmin Akter, said both children were ill, and the younger one is disabled. After being given a warm bath and food, they felt some relief. It is suspected the children were abandoned due to their illnesses.
Later, Anwara Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Tahmina Akter said the children have been admitted to a hospital. Once they recover, steps will be taken to send them to a “Save Home” through the Social Services Office.
