Md. Fakhrul Islam, the BNP candidate for Noakhali-5 (Companiganj–Kabirhat and parts of Sadar), has said that if voters choose the Dhaner Shish symbol, Tarique Rahman will become the Prime Minister. He added that under Tarique’s leadership, erosion-hit Noakhali would be developed like Singapore. Fakhrul made these remarks at a large election rally in Kabirhat on Saturday afternoon.

He stated that although many party leaders were seeking nominations and all were qualified, the party ultimately chose him. Fakhrul urged voters to cast their vote not for him personally but for Tarique Rahman’s Dhaner Shish symbol. He also promised to eliminate terrorism, extortion, and drugs from his constituency, emphasizing that no relatives of his would hold positions like mayor or chairman and that jobs would be given strictly on merit.

Fakhrul further urged that even if some voters may not favor him personally, they should still vote for the Dhaner Shish to restore Noakhali as a stronghold of Begum Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman.
