Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has assured that there are no plans to introduce a 7.5% tax on the earnings of freelancers and content creators.

The clarification came during a meeting with content creator Jewel Rana, who had expressed concern about the potential inclusion of freelancers’ income under a new tax system.

Rana said the prime minister made it clear that such a tax is not currently under consideration and is not expected to be introduced in the future.
