The new academic year brings changes to Bangladesh's textbooks, including the addition of a chapter titled "Our Four Leaders" for third grade, featuring Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Haque, Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani, Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy, and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Several topics in history have been revised, with some deletions and additions. Notably, the chapter "Our Father of the Nation" has been removed, and new stories, including the July Uprising, have been included. The National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) revised 441 textbooks with input from 41 experts. The fifth-grade "Bangladesh and World Identity" book now highlights the Declaration of Independence, mentioning Major Ziaur Rahman’s role, differing from the previous version. A printing error with a martyr's name was corrected online. Graffiti from the July Uprising has been added, and the image of Sheikh Hasina has been removed from textbook covers, though the message "Respect the elders" remains.
