West Bengal Minister and Kolkata Municipal Corporation Mayor Firhad Hakim has expressed confidence that Muslims will eventually become the majority in India. In a video, he is heard saying, "Soon, we will become the majority."

Hakim further mentions, "Our community makes up 33% of West Bengal's population and 17% of the country's population. Although labeled as a minority, we do not see ourselves that way. With Allah's blessings and the power of education, we believe we will transition from being a minority to becoming the majority in the future."
