The demolition of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Dhanmondi-32 residence resumed early Thursday (February 6, 2025) after a short break. People started gathering in the area after Fajr prayers, and by 7 AM, the demolition was in full swing. The front and facade of the main building had already been taken down, while some individuals were seen collecting iron rods from the debris. Auto-rickshaws were spotted carrying remnants of the museum.

The night before, a group of protesters, including students, vandalized and set fire to the house before bringing in an excavator to continue the destruction. Another group set fire to Sudha Sadan, the residence of Sheikh Hasina’s late husband, Dr. MA Wazed Miah, on Dhanmondi Road 5. Similar incidents were also reported in other districts beyond Dhaka.
