Nurul Haque Nur, President of Gono Odhikar Parishad and former VP of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU), stated that the trend of ministers’ and MPs' children inheriting their positions must stop. Speaking at a public rally organized by Gono Odhikar Parishad in Jhenidah on Saturday, Nur emphasized the need for political change, starting with personal transformation.

He added, "The new freedom brought by the August Revolution has inspired new dreams for us. We no longer want to be subjugated by any foreign power. Bangladesh will move forward, overcoming all conspiracies."

Nur also addressed advisers, warning that remnants of the ruling Awami League still exist within the administration. He urged them to make decisions with political parties, stating that no more fascist regimes should rise in the country.

Reflecting on past struggles, Nur noted that they have faced repeated attacks for speaking on behalf of the people but remain committed to ensuring free expression for everyone. He condemned decades of corruption, saying that former governments funneled billions abroad to build personal wealth while corruption infiltrated every level of society, from local officials to school staff. Nur vowed that the Gono Odhikar Parishad would root out corruption and work to build a prosperous nation.

The rally was presided over by district president Sakhawat Hossain, with speeches by central general secretary Md. Rashed Khan and other key party leaders.
