Meghna Group of Industries (MGI) has issued a strong public response refuting all recent allegations made by certain media outlets and social media platforms. In a press release published on April 21 via the company’s official website, the conglomerate firmly denounced the accusations as baseless and deliberately misleading.

In its statement, MGI asserted: "We are aware of certain media reports aimed at damaging our reputation through false and fabricated claims. MGI unequivocally denies these allegations and is confident that any objective and thorough investigation — be it domestic or international — will confirm our full compliance with all relevant laws and regulations."

The company emphasized its longstanding commitment to ethical business practices, stating: "We adhere to strict internal governance standards and are regularly audited by external bodies. We are certain that no inquiry will reveal any misconduct. Our global credibility is validated by collaborations with respected financial institutions such as the World Bank, International Finance Corporation (IFC), DEG, Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Asian Development Bank (ADB), FMO, HSBC, Sinosure, and other development finance institutions. These organizations require the highest standards of transparency, integrity, and legal compliance — all of which MGI consistently upholds."

While acknowledging that competition is a fundamental part of a thriving market economy, MGI expressed concern that the allegations may be the result of a coordinated media campaign intended to undermine the reputation of one of Bangladesh’s leading industrial entities.

The group appealed to all stakeholders, particularly members of the media, to exercise responsibility and verify facts before publishing reports. "We urge everyone to distinguish facts from speculation and to ensure responsible reporting based on verified information," the statement said.
