Dhaka Metro Rail passengers can now recharge their permanent travel cards through a mobile application, marking a major step toward digital and contactless public transport services. The Android app is currently available on the Google Play Store, while an iOS version for iPhone users is expected soon.

The official launch ceremony was held on Monday at the Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA) office in Tejgaon. The event was attended by Sheikh Moinuddin, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser on Road and Railways Affairs, DTCA Executive Director (Additional Charge) Md Mashidur Rahman, and former DTCA Executive Director Nilima Akhter. Although formally inaugurated on Monday, the app has been accessible on Google Play Store since January 1.

Earlier, on November 25, DTCA introduced an online recharge facility for permanent metro rail cards via its official website. With the addition of the mobile app, users can now recharge RAPID Pass and MRT Pass cards anytime and anywhere, significantly improving convenience and accessibility.
