Actress Mehazabien Chowdhury faced severe backlash for promoting her debut film, Priyo Maloti, by placing posters over a graffiti tribute to Sohagi Jahan Tonu, a victim of the tragic 2016 rape and murder case, at Dhaka University's TSC. In response to widespread criticism and demands for an apology from activists, Mehazabien returned to the site, personally removed the posters, and apologized publicly on Facebook. She explained that the incident was an unintentional mistake during a busy campaign and expressed her continued support for justice for Tonu.
