Nayan Sikder has been accused of submitting a photoshopped image to receive assistance from the July Foundation. Nayan, who works at a shop in Gazipur, claimed to be injured during the mass uprising and submitted a fake photo along with false documents to make his application appear legitimate. The fraud was uncovered when the foundation investigated, and Nayan later admitted his wrongdoing after providing a written statement.

This incident is part of a larger issue, as several individuals have resorted to fraud to get support from the foundation. Some claimed injuries from motorcycle accidents, falling cans, or other accidents, falsely stating they were hurt during the July mass uprising.

Three cases of fraud have been filed at Dhaka's Ramna Police Station, with some individuals admitting their involvement and being released after making written statements. Foundation officials have discovered around 50 cases of fraud.

Mir Mahbubur Rahman (Snighd), the CEO of the July Shaheed Memorial Foundation and brother of martyr Mir Mahfuzur Rahman (Mughd), stated that fraud cases are becoming more frequent. He suggested that if a verified list of those killed or injured during the movement were made, it would prevent further cheating. Rahman also highlighted the foundation's lack of manpower, which causes delays in helping genuine victims, damaging the foundation’s reputation.
