Speaking at the winter session of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, she emphasized that India has family, properties, and loved ones in Bangladesh, and while the central government's stance on the issue is respected, she condemned religious-based violence and sought Modi's action. Mamata further stated that India would not tolerate attacks on its citizens in Bangladesh and could bring them back if necessary.
