Nahid Islam, the candidate nominated by the 11-party alliance and convener of the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) for Dhaka-11, has alleged that mafia groups, fearing his mass support, are tearing down his billboards and banners. He claimed that desperate attempts are being made to stop the progress of Shaplakali.

On Monday (February 2), Nahid shared these remarks on his verified Facebook account.

In his post, he wrote: “The mafia groups, intimidated by the public support for Nahid Islam in Dhaka-11, are tearing down his billboards and banners one after another. They are making every effort to halt Shaplakali’s progress.”

He added, “Last night, a billboard of Nahid Islam was torn down near Nurbagh Mosque in Ward-23. I strongly condemn this disgraceful act. Those who are trying to stop Nahid Islam by destroying banners and billboards are mistaken. On the 12th, the people of Badda, Bhatara, and Rampura will respond to you, Inshallah.”
