Legal advisor Professor Asif Nazrul remarked that it is not possible to turn a college into a university overnight. He made this statement on Tuesday (November 19) in response to a question about the ongoing student movement at Government Titumir College during a press conference titled “100 Days of the Interim Government: Accountability of the Ministry of Law.”

Professor Nazrul stated, “It is unreasonable to expect any college to be turned into a university overnight.” He also condemned the violence, saying, “Attacking trains and injuring women and children is inhumane. While the government has shown some leniency toward the protesters, it will take firm action when necessary.”

Meanwhile, students of Titumir College, demanding its upgrade to a university, are staging a sit-in on campus as part of their “close-down” movement. All classes and exams at the college have been suspended, and academic activities are on hold.
