Two children were killed in northern Gaza in the latest Israeli attack, marking another violation of the ceasefire deal with Hamas. According to medical sources, the children, from the same family, were struck by an Israeli drone while collecting firewood near Kamal Adwan Hospital.

Severe fuel shortages and freezing temperatures, dropping to around 10°C (50°F) at night, have forced many Palestinians to gather fuel wherever possible. Those living in makeshift tents remain highly vulnerable to strong winds and rain, as most shelters are made from thin canvas and plastic.

Israel continues to block or restrict the entry of vital aid into Gaza, including tents, mobile homes, and materials to repair shelters, violating both the ceasefire agreed with Hamas in October and its obligations under international law as the occupying power. Since October 10, Israel has breached the United States-brokered ceasefire almost daily.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, at least 481 Palestinians have been killed and 1,206 injured in Israeli attacks since October 11. Since October 7, Israeli strikes have killed 71,654 people and wounded 171,391 in Gaza.

In a related incident, the Palestinian Health Ministry reported that a three-month-old child, Ali Abu Zour, died due to severe cold at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, bringing the total number of child fatalities caused by winter weather this season to 10.

Meanwhile, US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner visited Israel on Saturday to meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, primarily to discuss Gaza, sources told Reuters. The US recently announced plans for a “New Gaza,” a rebuilt enclave featuring residential towers, data centers, and seaside resorts, as part of efforts to strengthen the Gaza ceasefire amid repeated violations.
