In his post, he stated that at 2:30 PM on March 11, he, along with two others, was presented with this plan by individuals from the cantonment. They were reportedly offered a seat-sharing agreement in exchange for accepting this proposal. It was explained to them that this proposal had already been made to several political parties, and they had allegedly agreed to bring back a rehabilitated version of the Awami League under certain conditions. According to the proposal, it was preferable to have multiple opposition parties, including a weakened Awami League, rather than a single dominant opposition party. Hasnat Abdullah further claimed that over the past two days, various political figures have started making statements in the media in favor of the Awami League, which, according to him, aligns with this alleged scheme. The plan, as per his statement, involves certain individuals stepping forward in April or May to acknowledge crimes associated with the Sheikh family, publicly disowning Sheikh Hasina, and pledging to revive Bangabandhu’s Awami League. He asserted that when they were presented with this proposal, he and his two associates immediately opposed it. They urged the proponents of the plan to abandon the idea of rehabilitating the Awami League and instead focus on ensuring its trial. However, in response, they were allegedly warned that if they obstructed the return of the Awami League in any way, they would have to bear responsibility for any crisis that might arise in the country. The message they received, he claimed, was that “the Awami League must return.” During the discussion, Hasnat Abdullah said he challenged this stance by questioning how a party that had not even apologized or acknowledged its past crimes could be forgiven. The other side reportedly responded with anger, telling him and his associates that they lacked the necessary experience and wisdom to understand the situation. They were told that the individuals pushing for this plan had been in this field of service for at least forty years, making them more experienced than their opponents. Moreover, they insisted that no so-called “inclusive” election could take place without the Awami League. In response, Hasnat Abdullah stated that there could be no inclusivity involving the Awami League and that if anyone attempted to reinstate the party, they would have to do so over their dead bodies. He also warned that if such efforts were made, those responsible would have to bear the consequences of the crisis that would follow. At that point, the discussion reportedly ended without reaching any resolution, and they had to leave. Reflecting on past events, he mentioned that during the July movement, they had also faced repeated attempts to be influenced into making certain decisions. He claimed that there were efforts to pressure them into accepting various directives from the agencies or the cantonment. However, despite the pressure, they did not yield and instead placed their trust in the people, ultimately leading to the final downfall of Sheikh Hasina. Now, once again, he declared that he is rejecting the pressures being placed on him and choosing to trust the people. He expressed uncertainty about what might happen to him after making this post, acknowledging that he could face different forms of pressure or even danger. However, he made it clear that there was no room for compromise when it came to banning the Awami League. He reiterated that during the July movement, they had stood firm against external pressures, relying solely on the support of the people. He now called upon the public to stand with him once again, urging unity in opposition to what he describes as an Indian-backed conspiracy to rehabilitate the Awami League. He warned that if the Awami League was allowed to continue its political activities, the July movement would ultimately fail. Ending his statement with a strong declaration, he vowed that as long as there was even a drop of blood in their bodies, they would not allow the sacrifices of their martyrs to be in vain. He asserted that after August 5, there was no possibility for the Awami League to make a comeback in Bangladesh. Instead, he firmly stated that the Awami League must be banned.
