Odisha saw two major incidents concerning minor girls. In Cuttack, a 50-year-old godman was arrested under the POCSO Act for allegedly assaulting a 7-year-old. Separately, in Dhenkanal, a father killed a 27-year-old man with a rock while defending his 10-year-old daughter from attempted rape. The father surrendered afterward.
