A day after the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 people, the Indian government has taken a series of stern measures. In a decision made during a high-level security meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, all Pakistani nationals currently in India under the SAARC visa exemption scheme have been ordered to leave the country within 48 hours. Alongside this directive, India has suspended the issuance of new SAARC visas for Pakistani citizens and has canceled all previously granted visas under this scheme.
