BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas stated that if late President Ziaur Rahman, the founder of BNP, were alive today, Israel would not have dared to attack Palestine. He made these remarks during a BNP rally on Thursday (April 10), organized to protest the Israeli assault and express solidarity with the Palestinian people. Abbas warned that Israel's aggression is not limited to Palestine, as their ultimate aim is to wipe out Muslims worldwide—yet the Muslim world remains silent.

He expressed his anguish over the violent images coming from Palestine and said that Ziaur Rahman would have taken strong steps to support Palestine, just like he did during the Iran-Iraq war. Abbas emphasized that unless the United Nations acts effectively, such oppression will continue. He also criticized the silence of the Bangladeshi government, saying that Muslims are being persecuted in many regions, but no official protest is being made.

BNP leader Gayeshwar Chandra Roy also spoke at the rally, stating that BNP stands for justice and humanity. He questioned why the interim government of Bangladesh has yet to make any statement about Palestine, despite having many capable civil servants. Gayeshwar blamed the division within the Muslim world for the continued suffering of Palestinians and pointed out Israel’s close ties with countries like India and the United States. He also criticized how more attention is being given to stopping BNP from coming to power than addressing the crisis in Palestine.
