Information and Broadcasting Adviser Nahid Islam stated that the Awami League would struggle to return to politics in Bangladesh due to its past actions. Speaking at a discussion at Jahangirnagar University's Zaheer Raihan Auditorium on October 23, he emphasized that the party's return would dishonor the martyrs of past uprisings. Islam also claimed that Sheikh Hasina did not resign properly but was ousted by students. He criticized Awami League as a fascist party, questioning how such a group could operate within a democratic framework. He highlighted the rise of student leadership since 2018 and stressed that the fight was about preserving dignity. He added that the interim government should not be compared to a caretaker government, suggesting the need for significant reforms to align with public expectations.
