Eight-year-old Zayma wrote a heartfelt farewell letter to her closest friend, Hiya, who died of dengue at a Dhaka hospital on September 1. The two girls had been best friends since preschool, staying close even after enrolling in different schools.

After hearing about Hiya’s death, Zayma visited the hospital and drew a picture of the two friends holding hands.
