A deeply disturbing incident unfolded in Nangalkot, Cumilla, where a 22-year-old housewife endured a horrific ordeal of rape and torture within the confines of her own home. The young woman was reportedly left in a state of extreme vulnerability, her hands and feet bound, lying naked and helpless on the floor. Adding to the gravity of the situation, instead of offering immediate assistance, some individuals present at the scene callously chose to capture photographs and videos of her plight. This deeply insensitive footage subsequently circulated on social media platforms, further exacerbating the profound trauma experienced by the victim.

The brutal attack, which transpired last Thursday night, involved multiple masked assailants who not only subjected the housewife to this heinous sexual assault but also inflicted further indignities upon her, including forcibly cutting her hair. In addition to the physical and emotional violence, the perpetrators also looted valuables from her residence and attempted to set the property on fire. Law enforcement authorities have made an initial arrest in connection with this appalling crime, apprehending one suspect identified as Imam Hossain. However, the investigation remains active as police are diligently pursuing two other individuals believed to be involved, including the masked rapist. The victim, understandably traumatized by the events, has described herself as a "living corpse" and is urgently appealing for justice, demanding the immediate apprehension of all those responsible for the brutal attack and the subsequent violations of her dignity.
