The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecasts rain in several areas, including Dhaka, starting Friday, which may worsen the current cold wave. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions within 72 hours from 6:00 AM on December 20. This weather change is linked to a low-pressure system over the central South Bay of Bengal and its trough extending into the North Bay.

In the next 24 hours, weather is expected to stay dry with partly cloudy skies. Night temperatures may rise slightly, while daytime temperatures are expected to remain steady. Light to moderate fog could form from midnight to morning. Today, Tentulia recorded the country’s lowest temperature at 9.01°C.
