As US election counts signaled a strong Republican lead, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Donald Trump on his return as President, calling him “my friend” in a post on X. Modi expressed hope for renewing the India-US partnership for global peace and prosperity.

With Republicans gaining control of seven battleground states, Trump hailed the victory as "magnificent for the American people." He referenced surviving a July assassination attempt, attributing his survival to a purpose. Thanking his family, running mate JD Vance, and Elon Musk, Trump pledged to "heal" the nation and secure its borders.
