Hasnat Abdullah, a coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, demanded the immediate removal of President Mohammed Shahabuddin Chuppu in a Facebook post on Thursday (October 3). Hasnat also called for the trial of the Awami League, the replacement of corrupt bureaucrats, and the cancellation of illegal agreements made during Sheikh Hasina's tenure. The anti-discrimination movement, initially focused on reforming the government job quota, grew into a larger movement to oust the government, leading to Hasina’s resignation on August 5 and the formation of an interim government amidst widespread arrests of former ministers and MPs.
