Hamza Choudhury, the England-based footballer, is set to make his highly anticipated debut for Bangladesh on March 25, 2025, in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. After receiving FIFA's approval in December 2024 to switch his football allegiance from England to Bangladesh, Hamza is now officially eligible to represent the national team. This milestone comes after he secured a Bangladesh passport and received clearance from the Football Association in September 2024.

A pivotal moment in Hamza's journey occurred on January 15, 2025, when he met Tabith Awal, the president of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF), at Leicester City's King Power Stadium. The meeting was part of BFF's initiative to strengthen ties with Hamza as he prepares for his debut. During the visit, BFF officials engaged with Hamza and his family, watched Leicester City's match against Crystal Palace, and discussed his future with the Bangladesh national team.

Having enjoyed a successful career at Leicester City, Hamza is reportedly considering a move to Sheffield United during the winter transfer window. Once the transfer is finalized, he plans to update the BFF about his schedule. The AFC Asian Cup qualifier match against India, where Hamza is expected to debut, may take place in Shillong, India, pending AFC approval. This historic match signifies a new chapter for both Hamza and Bangladesh football.
