Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said that the government will introduce an LPG card system for women to ensure that mothers and sisters do not face difficulties in cooking.

He made the statement on Monday (April 27) at a public gathering after inaugurating the dredging work of the Ulshi canal in Sharsha upazila of Jashore.

He said that the government has already introduced a family card to support women’s self-reliance and that an LPG card will also be launched soon for their convenience.

Speaking about farmers, the Prime Minister said that farmers are a source of national pride and announced that agricultural loans up to Tk 10,000 have been waived to support them.

Regarding the July Charter, he stated that every line and word of it will be implemented.

Earlier in the morning at around 10:15 AM, the Prime Minister landed at Jashore Airport and directly inaugurated the canal dredging project in Sharsha upazila.

According to the schedule, after returning from Sharsha, he is expected to take a short break at the Jashore Circuit House. Later in the afternoon, he will lay the foundation stone of Jashore Medical College Hospital and address a public rally at the Jashore Central Eidgah ground.

At the end of the day’s programme, he is scheduled to depart from Jashore Airport in the evening and return to Dhaka at night.
