The interim government has unveiled an ambitious plan to build the longest bridge in the country—an 11-kilometer structure that will connect the island district of Bhola with Barishal. The project is estimated to cost Tk 17,000 crore. Notably, the Japanese firm Miyagawa Construction Ltd has expressed interest in undertaking the construction of this massive infrastructure. Authorities are hopeful that work on the bridge will commence during the tenure of the current interim government, possibly as early as January.
