A gardener named Chiakul, also known as Ujjwal (38), died after a jackfruit fell on his head while he was collecting jackfruits at Dhaka University's Rokeya Hall.

The incident took place on Tuesday morning in the garden of the Provost Bungalow at Rokeya Hall. After being seriously injured, Chiakul was taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead at around 11 a.m.

According to his colleague Sunil Chauhan, both worked as gardeners at Rokeya Hall and were picking jackfruits from a tree that morning. While standing on a table and using a bamboo pole to reach a jackfruit, Chiakul accidentally struck another jackfruit on a nearby tree. The fruit then fell directly onto his head.

The impact caused him to collapse face-first onto the paved ground, resulting in severe head injuries. He was quickly taken to the hospital, but doctors could not save him.

Chiakul was the son of Royjul from Devdun village in Kalia upazila of Narail. He lived in a residential area near Shahidullah Hall.
