Female students must enter the halls within 15 minutes of the Maghrib prayer call, while male students must do so by 11 PM. This directive was confirmed by Professor Dr. Sheikh A.B.M. Zakir Hossain, President of the Provost Council, on Sunday (December 22). He stated that the decision was unanimously approved at a general meeting of the Provost Council. It was learned that the decision was made concerning the third proposal discussed at the 140th general meeting of the Provost Council held on Saturday. The proposal stipulated that male students must enter their respective halls by 11 PM, while female students must enter within 15 minutes of the Maghrib prayer call. Students are also prohibited from staying in any hall other than their designated ones. Additionally, measures were decided to enhance security patrols around each hall during the winter vacation, such as deploying two additional security guards at night and one during the day. A request was also made to promptly deposit the six months’ backlog of subsidies (from July to December) into the hall funds. However, uncertainty persists regarding keeping the dining facilities open for students staying in residential halls during the winter vacation. It has been reported that the Provost Council will hold an emergency meeting at night to discuss this matter. The Provost Council of Islamic University (IU) has set time limits for students to enter the residential halls.
