When asked about the BNP's stance on the potential removal of President Mohammed Shahabuddin following discussions with students, Fakhrul informed reporters, 'The highest decision-making body of the BNP will address this matter. We will clarify our position after the discussions.' He emphasized, 'We have previously stated that it's crucial to align the revolution in Bangladesh with national unity and to avoid rash decisions that would prevent the benefits of the mass uprising from reaching our homes. This should occur through a constitutional process, which requires urgent election-focused reforms and subsequent elections.' Fakhrul made these comments after paying his respects at the grave of former President Ziaur Rahman in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, marking the 46th founding anniversary of Jubo Dal. When asked if he feared conspiracies due to potential delays in elections, he replied, 'We have consistently asserted that elections must be held as soon as possible. Power should be transferred to a constitutional political entity.' He added, 'Today, we reaffirm our commitment to safeguard our freedom at all costs. After a prolonged struggle against the fascist Awami League, we regained our freedom for the second time on 5 August. Jubo Dal's contribution to this struggle has been undeniably significant.
