A Dhaka court on Monday granted a four-day remand to Syed Sohanur Rahman Siam, son of Syed Abed Ali Jibon, the driver of a former PSC chairman, in a case over amassing illegal wealth. Siam is also an accused in the PSC question paper leak scandal.

Senior Special Judge Sabbir Faiz issued the order following a petition from the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), which had sought a seven-day remand.

The case was filed on 5 January last year by ACC Deputy Assistant Director Zakir Hossain, alleging that Siam amassed illegal assets worth Tk 3.30 crore beyond his known sources of income.

Earlier, on 20 January this year, the ACC confirmed it had arrested Syed Sohanur Rahman Siam.
